Nice carry piece

I'm a Sig guy. When I got my CCW I looked around to find a good carry gun and gravitated to the Sig P290RS in 9mm. It's a well made gun but I found I did not shoot it well due to the rather heavy DA trigger. I was not confident beyond 5 yards.
Someone suggested the Thunder 380 line. I checked reviews and considering the cost, I took a chance. I'm glad I did! This little beauty shot great out of the box with several kinds of ammo. I have about 500 to 600 rounds through it without one hitch of any kind. My eyes and muscles are not what they were 30 years ago but I find I can get all the shots in a 6 inch circle at 20 yards firing double taps (not careful aimed bullseye shooting}. About 2 inch at 7 yards. That's more than acceptable for defensive shooting in my book.
I just added the rubber grips but have not shot it since installing them but they feel great and I'm sure will enhance the shooting experience.
I strongly recommend this pistol to anyone looking for a compact, reliable, accurate and good looking carry piece.

In my unscientific opinion, the Bersa Thunder .380 can best be described as being the working man’s sidekick. It is universally recognized for its reliability as well as its ability to accept a wide variety of ammunition without so much as a hiccup. Because of the inexpensive price tag, some skeptics have berated the pistol – even going so far as to put it in the same category as some of the “cheap” and inferior firearms. This is an injustice when it comes to the Bersa Thunder .380, or any of the Bersa products for that matter. This pistol fits the shooter’s hand extremely well (large hands or small hands), is easy to strip down for maintenance, and is extremely accurate. After more than 500 rounds without a glitch, I can honestly say that this handgun outperforms many of the “high-dollar” firearms I own. Over the years, I’ve learned that if a firearm carries the name, “Bersa,” you can trust your life to its performance, value, and reliability.
RELIABLE!!!!

This is the most reliable pistol I ever bought, right out of the box. Fired about 500 rounds so far and have never had a FTE or FTF. I added rubber grips for a better feel. Glad I did that. Liked it so much I followed my purchase of it by ordering a Thunder Ultra Compact 9mm. My guess it will be equally reliable. For the price, you can't beat these pistols.

Reason for the 4 stars has been always my major complaint about this gun which are the
ADJUSTABLE SIGHTS! Adjustable sights in my opinion, do not belong in any Pocket Pistol!
The Finish would be another which could be improved. Nevertheless, however; my trust of this weapon has found it's way into my family member's house. Accuracy, simplicity, dependability best describe this little "fighter."
On a lighter note, thank the stars that Bersa offers the Thunder Combat and Thunder CC
for those who "favor" fixed sights and yes! A bobbed hammer!!
Awesome!

I have been looking for a conceal carry for quite a while. I am a first time hand gun owner and wanted a firearm that would be for close quarters protection. I was looking for a Walther PPK in a larger than 22 caliber, none to be found. A former colleague mentioned that Bersa had a similar designed firearm named the Thunder. I purchased one at my local dealer and took it out to the range the next week. The gun is nice, I know I am not a marksman, however, I did pretty well. Would recommend highly. As far as the James Bond mention (and his PPK). I was born in October on the 7th in 1962. (100762). The first 007 movie came out in 1962. That is why I was going for this style hand gun. Crazy I know, but I made a really wise choice. The gun is awesome and will not let you down.

I have had my 380 Bersa for a couple of months now. I really enjoy shooting the gun. The trigger on it is great, the feel of the whole gun is great. Can't go wrong buying the 380 "Thunder" Bersa!!
Pleasantly impressed with this little gun.

The Bersa Thunder 380 in matte finish was the first pistol I ever bought. In fact it was my first gun ever. Being a novice shooter with small children at home I wanted a gun that was "safe." I know that the main safety is between the owners ears however Thunder 380 is a very forgiving gun. The DA/SA trigger allows for a heavier, longer initial trigger pull diminishing the likelihood of accidentally firing because of nerves or stress. There has to be a deliberate steady pull on the trigger to fire it. Secondly, there is a manual safety/decocker that can be engaged which prevents firing even if the trigger is pulled. Finally, there is an integrated lock which totally freezes up the gun using the included key. I found this helpful when I had to suddenly run to the local hospital and change into scrubs (don't like like to leave my guns in cars) for an emergency. I knew that it was inoperable in the doctor's locker room.
Shooting the .380 ACP in a gun this size is a breeze. The single action pull is nice and this gun is ACCURATE. I think it's because of the fixed barrel; I am by no means a great shooter. It has also been very reliable with I think one FTF in the first 100 rounds but otherwise no issues. It's had about about between 900-1000 rounds through it. It runs with all types of ammo and I carry Hornady 90gr FTX Critical Defense for self defense.
I took my first practical pistol course after getting my CCW with it and did great. At first people looked down on this "lowly" 380 but the gun ran without a hiccup, through 300 rounds that day and made me look pretty good in the accuracy department. There were people with fancy polymer guns and spiffy 1911 that couldn't say that. In fact, that 1911 gave his poor owner so much trouble I doubt he has ever trusted it. Me? I know I can trust my life and the lives of my family to the Bersa Thunder 380. I can't give a better endorsement than that.
Some criticism might be that it does have some pointy edges such as the beavertail, saftey/decocker and the slidelock. These can sometime poke into you when carrying. I have found a good holster helps prevents this. I bet the Thunder 380 CC and Thunder 380 Combat models don't have those issues as much.
